Hidden Valley Ski Resort in Cypress Hills Provincial Park (South Region) is looking for Caretakers the 2021-22 winter season. The unique landscape of the area contrasts the surrounding prairie landscapes, making it an exciting destination for winter recreation opportunities.

Caretaker duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning of facilities at Hidden Valley Ski Resort, including the main lodge and the rental building; occasionally might be required to assist in cleaning of other buildings within the park
  • Safe operation of cleaning appliances, use of chemical cleaners, lifting and carrying, while adhering to OH&S practices and procedures
  • May be required to assist in other departments as needed
  • This position primarily works indoors



  • Some high school education with 6 months of related experience
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s license; must be willing to provide driver’s abstract and obtain Defensive Driver’s certificate upon hiring, prior to first day of work


  • Good judgment and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Physically fit as this is a physically demanding position
  • Familiarity with OH&S practices, procedures and responsibilities is an asset
  • Knowledge of park facilities/services, especially Hidden Valley Ski Resort

$22.74 to $24.09 per hour

Wage employees receive 11.2% in addition to regular wage earnings in lieu of benefits and vacation leave.

  • 5.2 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays.
  • 6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay.


  • Shifts are 7.25 hours a day, up to 36.25 hours a week.
  • Candidates must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays, December through March 2022. Weekend and evening shift premiums will apply.
  • Multiple positions are available.
