This position is key to the success of lift operations at Panorama Mountain Resort. The Lift Maintenance Manager will oversee and coordinate all maintenance for the Resort Lift Systems and related electrical activities.
Directly supervises all on mountain lift & electrical maintenance employees to insure the safe and reliable operation of all equipment in a cost-effective manner.
Preparation of department maintenance budgets,
Complete timelines for maintenance functions following manufacture and Panorama Mountain Resort procedures and recommendations
Complete analysis of specific maintenance functions and implement recommendations and improvements on process’s that we use.
Operate within the approved budget
Requisition, ordering and inspection of new and repaired parts and equipment
Monitoring parts inventory
Ensuring all records are complete and maintained as required
Ensure all work is performed as per our safe work procedures and policies
Insure we comply to all industry regulations, i.e., Tech Safe BC, WCB, CSA Z-98 code
Assign duties and schedule personnel
Track and monitor apprenticeship programs, to ensure apprentices are receiving adequate training
Involvement in the hiring process for maintenance personnel
Conduct performance reviews, and disciplinary actions
Assist in repairs and maintenance on the mountain and in a shop environment
Certified electrical or millwright journeyperson
Previous experience at a senior level working with maintenance of various types of equipment.
Knowledge of Ski lifts and electrical
Industrial equipment repairs an asset
Previous work in millwright trades
Valid BC Driver’s License
Demonstrate ability to work as a team with various mountain resort departments
Strong leadership and management qualities with excellent communication skills
Must be able to work effectively in stressful situations
Ability to think quickly and follow all safety procedures
Have strong administrative and computer skills
Ability to work at heights and lift heavy equipment
