Job Synopsis: The lift mechanic is responsible for assisting with the daily, weekly, and annual maintenance of the chairlifts and handle tow. You will help supervise lift-operating staff and assist with snowcat maintenance. Your primary goal will be to ensure that all Whitewater guests have a safe and enjoyable experience.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Implementing daily, weekly and annual lift maintenance
  • Supervising the daily operations of the lifts ensuring the safe and consistent operations for our guests
  • Performing preventative maintenance and repair of the snow cats and loader
  • Training of Lift Operators
  • Adhering to all Ministries, Authorities and Codes having jurisdiction
  • Ensuring all safety procedures are being followed at all times
  • Documenting maintenance performed
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Safe and consistent operations for guests
  • Skier visits
  • Compliments and complaints
  • Staff moral and productivity
  • Adherence to budgets and schedules


  • Familiarity of CSA Z 98 code an  asset
  • Leadership skills
  • Mature individual
  • Understanding of basic hand tools
  • Valid class 5 drivers license
  • General mechanical aptitude
  • Meets qualifications for Millwright apprenticeship schooling
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays as required
