Fernie Alpine Resort Utilities Corp. is looking to fill the position of a full-time year-round senior utility’s operator/manager, at Fernie Alpine Resort, RCR Inc. Reporting to the FARUC Senior Manager, the successful candidate will be certified and have proven experience in the field with an aptitude for working both independently and cooperatively in a team environment. The role requires a strong leader with excellent organizational skills, financial acumen and a working knowledge of domestic water, wastewater, and associated infrastructure in a mountain resort environment.

Duties:
• To ensure a comfortable and friendly atmosphere for both guests and staff
• Hands on work and manager responsible for the maintenance and functionality of the municipal water services provided by Fernie Alpine Resort to area residential and commercial properties
• Hands on work and manager responsible for the reliable cost-effective operation of municipal works including storm water systems, domestic water supply and wastewater treatment
• Lead by example, train, coach, mentor utility team in all company protocols and department functions
• Follow treatment plant process including all regulatory testing and reporting to government agencies
• Plant and site maintenance, general housekeeping, and snow removal at utilities yard
• Immediate reporting of non-compliance or malfunctions or operating challenges to senior management
• Know and adhere to the policies, rules and protocols outlined in the Resorts of the Canadian Rockies Employee Handbook
• Know and follow all safe work procedures included in the Safety Management Program
• Know and comply with all expectations of the Injury Management/Return-to-Work Programs
• To perform other tasks and duties that are applicable

Qualifications:
• Level 3 Waste Water Treatment Certification from Environmental Operators Certification Program
• Level 1 Water Treatment Certification from EOCP
• Minimum 5 years of experience
• Leadership experience will be an asset
• Driver’s License
• Able to lift, push, pull and move equipment up to of fifty pounds
