Role Overview:

The Facility Custodians are an integral part of our overall resort operation. This team works daily, behind the scenes, to ensure our public and administrative areas are clean and welcoming for our guests/employees. While this position is highly operational, the variety of work locations and tasks from working on this team, in a ski resort setting, will open up opportunities of advancement internally and externally throughout the Ski Resort/Tourism industry.

Job Skills Required:

Reliable and responsible person with team-based ethics
Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures is an asset but not required
Physically able to stand, walk, crouch, bend, lift and be in motion for the majority of the shift and the ability to safely lift 50 lbs/23 kg, climb ladders and work at heights
Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions is an asset
Knowledge and experience in safely handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals
Ability to communicate effectively with departmental team members and leadership
Holds a valid WHIMIS Certification is an asset
Has interest in working towards a career in the Ski Resort/Tourism industry

Role Responsibilities:

Executes daily cleaning of all SPRLLP buildings (public and administrative) and ensures they are in orderly condition, including but not limited to: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, window washing, and sanitizing
Performs routine maintenance activities in accordance with the preventative maintenance schedule and any immediate maintenance requirements
Ensures the perimeter of all SPRLLP buildings is clean and orderly
Performs routine deep cleaning duties in accordance with the schedule
Removes daily refuse, ensuring proper disposal in accordance with SPG standards
Safely restocks/handles cleaning solutions and chemicals in preparation for cleaning and keeps the supervisor aware of inventory levels
Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
Drives SPRLLP vehicles required to perform or travel to cleaning locations within resort bounds, including industrial trucks, vans, or industrial vacuum cleaners
Notifies managers of any needed repairs or additions to building operating systems
