Your Responsibilities will include:

Provide the highest possible standard of pre-hospital care for injured guests of controlled recreational area & golf course as required
Provide and administer first aid to injured staff members of SPR LLP as required
Provide and perform rescue services for guests and employees as required, including but not limited to, low angle rope rescue, trail extrication, chairlift evacuation, patient transport, establishing helicopter landing zones
Work and communicate effectively with outside agencies such as BC Ambulance Service, RCMP, Sun Peaks Fire Rescue, KSAR and the Sun Peaks Health Center
Carry out Patrol Investigations with a high level of efficiency and professionalism
Ensure proper trail and safety signage is appropriately placed and maintained according to industry and company standards
Daily checks of downhill mountain bike trails, while riding a downhill mountain bike in a safe and controlled manner at all times
Follow occupational health and safety regulations
Ongoing risk mitigation of bike trails and company premises
Maintain and complete documentation; including but not limited to first aid treatment paperwork, trail checks, equipment checks
Attend and engage in ongoing training throughout the season
Assist mountain bike trail crew with trail maintenance as required
Safe ATV operation/driving on mountain terrain
Adhere to company policies and Standard Operating Guidelines

Ideal Candidates:

Current 80+ hour first aid certificate or higher: I.e. OFA Level 3, Outdoor/Non-Urban Emergency Care, EMA EMR/PCP License (with OFA 3 endorsement preferred)
Strong Mountain Bike riding skills
High level of physical fitness and free of injury
Current PEAK Advanced Protocols certification preferred
Experience as either a winter ski patroller or summer bike patroller preferred
Basic understanding of Risk Management for Mountain Biking preferred
Valid BC Driver’s License Class 5 – Abstract required (Class 4 an asset)
