Job Summary
Snow School Supervisors are responsible for the smooth day to day operations of the department. They understand how to effectively manage and schedule instructors in order to provide the best possible experience to both internal and external guests. They are proactive in identifying areas of improvement and are safety and guest experience champions in the workplace.
Essential Job Functions
- Work with the scheduler and other supervisors to ensure appropriate staff allocation on a weekly and daily basis
- Ensure the smooth connection of guests and staff in our lesson meeting and check in areas
- Monitor and understand staffing requirements as they related to the departments overall budget
- Work with the sales department to ensure that lessons are booked properly and that errors are followed up on
- Be on snow to coach our pre-season training sessions
- Support instructors throughout the season, including the completion of one-on-one reviews
- Enter payroll data, assist instructors with payroll issues and other administrative tasks as required

- Teach lessons as needed
- Other duties as required
Supervisory Requirements
- Exceptional leadership skills to deal with both new and experienced staff
- 1+ seasons supervisory experience in a snow school (required)
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to train and motivate staff
- CSIA/PSIC/CASI Level 3 or international equivalent certification (required)
- Competent computer skills including Word, Excel, and G Suite
- Have appropriate physical fitness to take on all assignments
- Be fluent in all aspects of the English language (spoken and written)
- Be able to work in inclement weather in an alpine environment
- Have sight, speech and hearing abilities to learn sufficient skills, follow and provide directions
- Available to work five days a week including evenings, weekends & holidays
- Successful applicants over the age of 19 will be required to provide results of a clear background check within six months of the hire date before starting work. Grouse Mountain will assist with this process if the applicant does not have a valid background check
Working Conditions
Hours of Operation are weather dependant. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, and other forms of manual tasks.
Compensation and Benefits
$21.62 to $25.28/hour
