Job Title: Payroll and Benefits Administrator

The Payroll & Benefits Administrator is a key support provider within the Finance department and provides customer service excellence, performs payroll processing, and partnering with internal stakeholders.  The role is also responsible for the benefits administration and responding to inquiries.

 

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Processing full-cycle bi-weekly payroll for all pay groups within Grouse Mountain Resorts
  • Preparing journal entries for payroll general ledger accounts
  • Processing new hires, changes, and terminations in a timely and accurate manner
  • Administering the employee benefits program including but not limited to Extended Health & Dental, RRSP and Transit Subsidy
  • Maintaining the payroll software
  • Preparing and filling WCB & EHT quarterly and annual remittance
  • Preparing and filling Record of Employment (ROE), Pensionable and Insurable Earnings Review (PIER) reports, T4s
  • Preparing monthly and year-end account reconciliations for payroll general ledger accounts
  • Assisting with annual audit inquiries and documentation requests
  • Partnering with HR on payroll-related information and reconciliations
  • Ensures compliance with legislation (employment standards and payroll tax changes)
  • Ensuring proper storage and record keeping of accounting related documents
  • Responding to inquiries and other tasks related to payroll and benefits
  • Seeks opportunities to streamline and innovate work processes, advises stakeholders of risks and opportunities, collaborate cross functionality.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of full-cycle payroll experience
  • Ceridian Dayforce payroll experience considered an asset
  • Accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Commitment to working in a deadline-oriented environment with high confidentiality and discretion
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle escalations and time critical issues
  • Able to work as a team and independently on various tasks
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Previous benefits administration experience
  • PCP or CPM Certification is an asset
