Places & Faces: Kimberley

CWSAA Directors that rip! Good luck keeping up with Director Kim Locke. And our Chair Andre Quenneville…forget about it!

General Manager Ted Funston toured the CWSAA Board around Kimberley Alpine Resort’s monstrous fall line runs during its winter Board meeting. The Resorts of the Canadian Rockies Resort has huge terrain serviced by a Leitner high speed quad, the Easter triple chair, and Tamarack double chair (former Larch Chair at Louise), as well a tbar and conveyor at its base.

The ski area has done a great job with its presentation. Lift stations, patrol bump shack, trail maps, and mountain washrooms are neatly tied together with consistent log building design.

An original Tbar tower has been located at the top of the mountain to tie in Kimberley’s long skiing history and is used as a wedding venue with its stunning views of the Canadian Rockies.

Close attention has been paid to signage around the mountain, and toboggan shelters at lift top terminals cleverly utilize culverts.

Trickle Creek Lodge offers great rooms immediately adjacent to the base of the quad lift, and served as home base for CWSAA Board meetings. Easily recommended for future meetings and events.
