Valentines Love

With cupids day of love landing right in the middle of ski season, its a fantastic opportunity to spread a little love.  Special dinner menus are common at many ski areas, but we found some unique ideas out there for guests to celebrate at ski areas, plus some fun social media promotions.

Revelestoke Mountain Resort

Free Weddings & Vow Renewals

This will be the fourth year Revelstoke has offered this event.  Guests must bring their marriage license, and the resort provides a marriage commissioner on the mountain to perform the vows.  The resort even provided champagne and cupcakes.  Last year 14 ceremonies were held on Valentines Day!

Mt Norquay

Lifts of Love speed dating

Upon arrival each participant receives a necklace that identifies you as either ‘seeking him’ or ‘seeking her’ then head to the lift and get in the corresponding line.  An usher of sorts will pair people up and perhaps feed you a conversation starter, participants have the chair ride up to chat and make a connection.  The idea is you meet someone new on each chair ride and you already have a love for skiing in common.  An Après Ski Mixer with a few party games and a live DJ gives participants a second chance to find someone intriguing or further a connection found earlier.

This event is held prior to valentines (Feb 10 this year), and is in its 6th season!

Lake Louise

Cupid video

While not an annual event, this video was a fun social media piece.  Check it out here.

Big White

Romantic Gondola Cabins & Bachelor Parody Videos

With gondola cabins decked out in pillows, blankets and love hearts, guests are treated to a glass of sparkling, as well as a box of chocolate-covered strawberries.  Reservations required!

On social media in 2016, Big White created the “Big White Bachelorette” Parody.  This witty take on the Bachelorette created 7 short episodes leading up to valentines that showcased the facilities of Big White as six men vied for the bachelorette’s heart.

Canyon Ski Resort

Tube, Dine & Wine

Ski resort in the winter, and popular wedding venue in the summer, Canyon Resort in Red Deer has created a great niche.  To draw locals to the ski area who are not necessarily skiers, they’ve been holding tube and dine nights.  For valentines, the event includes a glass of wine, romantic dinner and is reserved for couples only!
