Position Status: Full-Time, Part-Time available, Seasonal, Hourly
As part of the snowmaking team, you will be an integral part of a successful season. Working in a team environment, you will be on the mountain attending to snowmaking equipment, including high pressure hoses and pumps; as well as working alongside the terrain team making the mountain happen!
The position will include the following functions, but is not limited to:
- Assures safe practices are followed for all snowmaking procedures.
- Follows direction and snowmaking plan as dictated by Operations Manager and Snowmaking Supervisors.
- Setting up of snow guns and equipment.
- Monitoring of pump house and valve house during start up and shut down of snowmaking system.
- Perform checks and asses snow quality from guns on minimum hourly bases.
- Uphold a high standard of communication, consideration for coworkers, equipment, and product quality.
- Works well with others in a team environment.
- Able to work independently on a task and see it through to completion.
- Understands that weather plays a major part in snowmaking production and monitoring for changing weather patterns.
Requirements (or able to attain):
- Must be able to lift and drag snowmaking equipment, guns and hoses and shovel snow as needed; upwards of 50lbs
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- First aid ticket is preferred.
- Winter clothing and gear for work is required.
- Steel toe insulated rubber boots are required.
- On-site lunch is required.
- Be prepared for all weather conditions.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Able to make informed decisions on the go.
- ~3 days of hands-on training starting in October. Weather permitting, we will start making snow in mid-October.
