Membership Types & Dues
The following membership dues are effective April 1, 2024.
ALPINE & NORDIC SKI AREAS
Alpine Ski Areas with surface conveyors, aerial lifts and/or gondolas.
Nordic Ski Areas (including Nordic Clubs).
Annual dues are based on skier visits

HELICOPTER & CAT SKI OPERATORS
Helicopter & Cat Ski Operators (without Lift Infrastructure).
Annual Dues: $550.00 + GST.
BUSINESSES WITH LIFTS, BUT WITHOUT SKIING
Tourism businesses that operate lifts, but do not host snowsports.
Annual Dues: $415.00 + GST.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERS
CORPORATE
A company or person supplying products and / or services to the ski industry. This membership type also includes regulators and governments.
Annual Dues: $615.00 + GST
OTHER SKI AREAS
Ski areas, or lift-based tourism operations, that are NOT located in Western Canada. This also include ski areas in any location, including Western Canada, that are not actively operating, under construction or in concept.
Annual Dues: $615.00 + GST
NOT-FOR-PROFIT
Associations and other not-for-profit organizations, not including those that meet the definition of a Regular Member. These may include, but are not limited to Destination Marketing Organizations, Provincial/National Sports Associations and other industry associations.
Annual Dues: $560.00 + GST
Conditions of Membership
Regular Members & Associate Members:
To actively support the Mission, Goals and Objectives of the Canada West Ski Areas Association.
To promptly pay membership dues and other fees legitimately assessed by the Association.
To comply with laws and regulations set forth by government agencies concerning the ski industry.
Additional Conditions for Regular Members
To support and honour the CWSAA Competitor Pass Program.
To report the following information, when requested by CWSAA, to establish the size and growth of the industry: Number of employees (full-time and part-time); Skier visits, including season pass usage; Number and type of all lifts with length, vertical and capacity; Number of skiable acres in the area.
Regular Members must be actively engaged in operating a ski area, or lift-based tourism operation, in Western Canada.
Associate Membership Application
A company or person supplying products and / or services to the ski industry.
