Spring Conference – just 3 weeks away
There is still time to register, however, it would be greatly appreciated for all attendees to register ASAP so the CWSAA can have your name badge ready, and be prepared for accurate numbers!
For those already registered for the Spring Conference, please be sure to review your registration and social events selected. Please let us know if you have any changes to make.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Small Areas Auction
Are you planning on donating an item to the Small Areas Auction? Please let us know in advance so that we can create a sign for your item and recognize your contribution. Please send a brief description and the value to firstname.lastname@example.org ASAP, and then bring your item to the registration desk at the conference!
This year, in addition to the silent auction, a few items will auctioned live during the awards dinner!
Auction Item Sneak Peak!
As a small areas themselves, Misery Mountain wanted to support the auction with a very innovative item – they will be donating the naming of a run. Take a look HERE and start thinking of your name ideas!
Snowmaking Session Survey
There is fantastic energy from the working group developing a Spring Conference session on snowmaking. In order to develop the best session, they are asking operations managers and staff for input on snowmaking topics. If you haven’t already, please complete this survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/8YJKY9T
Vehicle Rentals & Lease
As ski areas finalize their plans for summer projects that may require extra vehicle support, this is a reminder that CWSAA members receive discounts on DRIVING FORCE rental vehicles. DRIVING FORCE also specializes in lease vehicles for outdoor workplaces. Contact Dan Clark at 780-641-1124.
CWSAA distributed a one page brief to Alberta Ski Area GMs on March 22 with Alberta ski industry facts, key messages, advocacy priorities, and tips on how to engage with the provincial election. The intent is to support consistent ski industry messaging, increase your ski area profile, and complement any effort in local ridings. Albertans go to the polls on Tuesday April 16.
As the season comes to a close for many, we ask Ski Areas to promptly submit annual skier visitation and Competitor Pass usage. Individual ski area visitation information is kept strictly confidential. Aggregated skier visits by province will be published in the Fall. The form was circulated to all General Managers on March 27. Please submit to Cynthia at email@example.com upon closing.
The CWSAA Notice of Members’ AGM was circulated by email on March 26.
The meeting will take place:
When: Wednesday, April 24, 2019 9:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. PST.
Place: Fairmont Chateau Whistler, 4599 Chateau Blvd, Whistler, BC
Please note, only CWSAA members in good standing (paid 2019-2020 membership dues) are eligible to vote at the AGM.
