Fall Sponsorship Opportunities
During the Fall meetings, members will have the opportunity to sponsor the meeting series and showcase their brand. Sponsorship is $1000, which includes recognition at all three Fall events – ASM, BC-Y, and Bike Park Forum. For more information, view the CWSAA Fall Sponsorship webpage.
Small Areas Assistance
Small Areas eligible for funding, who would like to attend a Fall meeting, must submit a written request by July 16 to office@cwsaa.org.
At the January, 2019 Board meeting, the CWSAA Board of Directors approved a policy change which came into effect this month. The updated policy change expands the funding opportunity to $2000 over a 24 month period:
Eligible ski areas may apply for funding up to a maximum of $2,000 during any 24 consecutive month period, with no greater than $1500 granted within 12 consecutive months.

Kal Tire Partnership
At the 2019 CWSAA Spring conference (AGM meeting), an opportunity was presented for CWSAA members to partner with Kal Tire.
An offer will be available to all CWSAA members for a discount at Kal Tire. More details on this will be available later this summer.
For Ski Areas, there will be an opportunity to participate in a marketing partnership targeting skiers. Our friends at Driving Force observed there was high interest in work trucks and sprinter vans at the CWSAA spring conference. There was also particular interest in the post-lease credits. This is a friendly reminder to contact Dan Clark at Driving Force.

Public Invited to Share Views on Workers Compensation
As you’re probably aware, the provincial government has announced a review of the workers compensation system, including policies, practices and the Workers Compensation Act, with the objective of making them more “worker centred”. The review will be carried out by a retired lawyer, Janet Patterson. As a part of this review, Ms. Patterson will be soliciting feedback from all stakeholders including injured workers, employers, healthcare workers etc. through public consultations and private feedback. This is an excellent opportunity for employers to share their concerns about the workers compensation system and improvements they would like to see going forward. You can share your feedback until July 19, 2019.
Visit the government website to submit your comments, or for further details on the review including terms of reference and the engagement process: https://engage.gov.bc.ca/workerscompensationreview/ways-to-participate/
We encourage all employers to participate! [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1560787276451{border-bottom-width: 3px !important;border-bottom-color: #73a0c1 !important;border-bottom-style: solid !important;}”]

A major investment will bring snowmaking capabilities to Castle Mountain, with the goal of opening earlier and more consistent conditions on the Huckleberry terrain pod. The investment includes water storage reservoir holding 6700 cubic meters of water, main pump house with a capacity of 250 gallons per minute, underground piping, electrical, hydrants, snowmaking machines and power pedestals covering serveral runs along the Huckleberry Chair / lower mountain.
Additionally, a new natural gas infrastructure investment includes 7.5 kms of upgraded gas line and 16.7kms of new gas lines that will service the resort, which was previously serviced by propane. The new gas service is expected to substantially reduce the resorts green house gases.
